A. Running Corel Wild Board Games on Microsoft Windows 95
=========================================================

Corel Wild Board Games was released prior to the release of
Microsoft Windows 95. As a result, Corel Wild Board Games has only
been tested with beta versions of Microsoft Windows 95. Although
Corel anticipates that Corel Wild Board Games will run on the release
version of Microsoft Windows 95, we can't guarantee compatibility
at this time.

B. Installation issues and space requirements
=============================================

For the game to work properly, the Corel Wild Board Games CD should always
be in your CD-ROM drive while playing the game.

    1. Errors during installation
    -----------------------------
       If you encounter an error during the "MISC. Files" copy portion of
       the installation it is likely due to certain Microsoft Video For
       Windows files that are already on your system. If these files are
       already on your system they may either be in use during the
       installation, or they may have invalid dates or data content. If
       the error that occurs refers to the MSACM.DRV file and "MS sources
       not being set up correctly", then simply exit the installation,
       delete the MSACM.DRV file from your Windows/System directory and
       reinstall the Corel Wild Board Games program. This file will then
       be replaced by the version found on the Corel Wild Board Games
       CD-ROM. If you are uncomfortable with these procedure, please call
       Corel Technical Support for assistance.

    2. Space requirements
    ---------------------
       Corel Wild Board Games requires the following hard drive space:

       - 3 MB on the drive on which Microsoft Windows is located. This
         space is used to install Microsoft Video For Windows and
         Microsoft WinG.
       - 4 MB of temporary space that's used briefly to decompress files
         during the installation.
       - 14 MB on the drive on which you plan to install Corel Wild
         Board Games.

C. Improving the performance of Corel Wild Board Games
======================================================
The performance of any CD-ROM application is greatly affected
by the speed of your computer, the speed of your CD-ROM player,
and the amount of RAM your system has available. To enjoy
Wild Board Games at its very best, Corel recommends running it
on a Pentium machine.

   1. Video performance
   --------------------
      If Corel Wild Board Games seems to be running slowly, performance
      may be improved by setting your video driver to 256 color mode.
      For more information about setting color mode, see the documentation
      provided by your video card manufacturer.

   2. Game options
   ---------------
      Within Corel Wild Board Games, setting the TEXT BUBBLES option
      to OFF and/or setting the MUSIC option to OFF may improve
      performance on slower systems.

D. Undocumented game options
============================

   1. Chess board set up
   ---------------------

       At the beginning of the Chess game, if you would like the board to be
       set up faster, click the left mouse button.

   2. Snakes and Ladders difficulty selector
   -----------------------------------------

       The difficulty selector is disabled while playing Snakes and Ladders.
       Although the Snakes and Laders difficulty selector remains set at
       whatever the main difficulty selector was set for, this doesn't alter
       game play in any way.

E. Troubleshooting
==================

1. Sound
-------
If you're experiencing any sound problems with Corel Wild Board Games,
contact the manufacturer of your sound card to make sure you have the
latest drivers for your sound card. If you still have difficulties
after installing the latest drivers, contact Corel Multimedia Technical
Support.

   A. MIDI warning message
   -----------------------
      If you experience a Microsoft Windows warning message telling you
      that the default MIDI setup on your system may not be correct, the
      game may still function adequately. If you don't want this MIDI
      warning displayed in future game sessions, click the warning disable
      check box in the MIDI warning dialog box that appears. NOTE: Clicking
      the disable warning box has the same effect as adding the following
      entry to your WIN.INI file:

                    [MCISEQ.DRV]
                    DISABLEWARNING=TRUE

2. Video
--------
If you are experiencing any problems with graphics or animations,
in Corel Wild Board Games, contact the manufacturer of your video card
to make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If
you still have difficulties after installing the latest drivers,
contact Corel Multimedia Technical Support.

   A. MATROX video cards
   ---------------------
      If you are having problems running Corel Wild Board Games in high
      color and resolution modes, try switching to 256 colors and/or
      640x480 screen resolution. If you still experience problems and are
      using the WINSWITCH option in your Matrox video driver configuration,
      try disabling this feature. For further information consult your
      video card documentation.

      In Windows 95 you may notice that the game background is white
      instead of black. This will not cause any problems.

   B. Diamond Stealth video cards
   ------------------------------
      If you are having problems running Corel Wild Board Games in
      24 bit color mode, try running the game in a different color mode.
      For further information consult your video card documentation.

   C. EMail and other warning messages
   -----------------------------------
      If you have warning messages running on your computer such as
      Network or EMail notification messages, you may experience color
      and/or screen refresh difficulties while playing Corel Wild Board
      Games. The game screen may refresh as you continue to play, however
      we recommend that these types of warning messages be disabled during
      game play.
